National Security Advisor Jim Jones

I’m not sure I agree with one of President Obama’s appointments. Jim Jones is the National Security Advisor? Didn’t he kill himself 30 years ago in the jungle of Guyanna? You know I trust Obama’s judgement so if he think this guy is the guy , then I’m ok with it.

The other day Ani asked me if I heard the latest from PETA, I said
no. And then she said they are trying to discourage people from eating
fish by calling them Sea Kittens. I shit you not.

Who had this brilliant idea, fish are not lovable scamps. They swim
around, they get caught, cut up and then either served up as sushi or
fillet-o-fish. In these times, perhaps PETA should be more concerned
with the ethical treatment of people, who will soon be eating (land)
cat food.

I chose to honor Kurt Russel in Escape from New York and picked an eye to b e a body part that I'd be willing to give up. Others have said pinkie would be easier to deal with.

Why missing a pinkie is bad
- cant wear gloves properly
- cant drink tea like a sophisticated person
- can't have mob street cred without pinkie rings
- your hands are off balance when posting here
- the "shocker" is out of your repitoire

Why missing an eye is awesome
- extra storage under the patch
- pirates are cool
- you can scare kids
- you wouldn't have had to witness your favorite sports teams choke with two eyes

Why missing a pinkie is good
- Can still get handicap plates without too much difficulty
- still have 9 other fingers

What sucks about losing an eye
- trouble driving
- lint under your patch

Last night I saw The Wrestler with Mickey Rourke and Marissa Tomei. It was really great. I couldn't stop myself from trying to figure out who The Ram was supposed to be. Clearly he was part Hulk Hogan and part Jake "the snake" Roberts and I guess part an unknown 50ish wrestler who never stopped living the dream.

It was incredibly warm at times, and other times very harsh. The choreorgaphy was really great, as they showed you the angles WWE and TNA try to hide from you.

Let me tell you this, for a 40 year oldish actress it was bold for Marisa Tomei to go topless. And it was worth the wait.

I think that Rourke and Tomei could get nominations for major awards.

why Marissa Tomei will not win an Oscar Best supporting Actress Oscars always go to writers, muses, nuns,royalty, old British ladies, and waitresses not strippers.

happy new year

I know that its been a long time since I posted but in the new year I hope to get a chance to post more frequently. So 2008 was a pretty big year for me, promotion at work, ROY at The Happy Recap ... And oh yeah the birth of Olivia. Which was awesome. It is almost indescribable how much joy she has brought to me this year.

For the guy who was shaving his chest in the gym locker room. Dude do that at home.

To Mike and Mandy a great wedding or two or three. Hopefully none is listed as "shotgun". And Mandy I hoper you feel welcome into the family. Ani and I think you are great and Olivia is pretty fond of her aunt.

To Kelvin I hope you can get normal hours again, which will be great for the baby I hope Shawnda gets.

To Mike and Rachel, I hope you guys get extra sleep. I know you guys need it. If you don't we hate you. I also hope that you guys enjoy every moment with Max, he is awesome. Also I hope you can find the words to explain to him why the Yankees don't win again.

Dave and Holly, I hope you get that outdoor hot tub I've been talking about. And that your alter-egos Wellen and Glamthrax stay healthy and safe.

For all my recently reconnected friends on facebook I hope to spend more time with you guys.

To my pals over at THR I hope we get to have a second outing at the Mets victory parade.

To my Ani and Olivia I just hope I can be everything for you guys that you need or want me to be.

thinking ahead

This weekend we were in Rhode Island for Mark and Becky's wedding. It was really classy and it was great fun going on vacation with friends.

But I had two weird moments. The sun was blazing during the ceremony, so I took Nugglet into the shade. She liked it better there. Then, Becky was brought down the aisle by her parents and I was getting weepy. Luckily I was wearing sunglasses. Even though they were giving her away to a really great guy it must have been sad giving her away.

Then there was another moment we were at the table and Becky and her dad were dancing and it felt like a movie. One minute me and Rolls are sitting at a wedding watching the dance, then a second later we are dancing on her wedding day.

Oh god I'm such a wuss. I need to go have a good cry.

Speaking of crying, last nights Mets loss was the worst of the year. They were on the verge of going up a full game with the opportunity of going up three games (with a sweep) now they need a win tonight to get back even and a win Thursday afternoon to take the lead again.

And all of a sudden the Marlins are back in it. A loss by the Mets tonight could send us spiralling into Third place (Yankee territory). All of the scenarios are dizzying.

We went out to dinner at Cheeburger Cheeburger and I decided to take the one pound burger challenge. The burger was good, and easily defeated. Afterwards they brought over the plush burger trophy for me to pose with and they put my picture on the wall with the rest of great gurgitators.

Honestly it wasn't so bad, Though i tasted meat for hours.

The Mets one month to the day after firing Willie Randolph have climbed back to first place in the National League East. Olivia and I were pumped!

jury duty day 2

It is almost 1pm (when the courts break for lunch) and we haven't moved from the lounge. Its freezing. How about respecting our time. I could have gone into work for the morning and come in by 2pm. What a waste of my time.

I have rediscovered the magic that is distorted view. I listened to some DV songs and then got inspired to listen to the show. It is helping me pass the time.
